Verizon Wireless and UTStarcom Offer Award-Winning Pocket PC XV6700 With Windows Mobile(TM) 5.0

Verizon Wireless, the first wireless company to deliver wireless broadband
service from coast to coast, and UTStarcom Personal Communications, a division

Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the availability of the XV6700
-- the first device for Verizon Wireless from UTStarcom that utilizes the
Microsoft Windows Mobile(TM) 5.0 platform. Recently proclaimed an 'Editor's
Choice for 2005' by Laptop magazine, the XV6700 runs on Verizon Wireless' EV-
DO (Evolution-Data Optimized) wireless broadband network.

With its EV-DO and Wi-Fi capabilities, the XV6700 enables Verizon Wireless
customers to be productive and stay connected -- the Windows Mobile 5.0-
equipped XV6700, with its unique sliding QWERTY keyboard that opens from the
side and automatically changes screen orientation from portrait to landscape
viewing mode, is designed to allow busy professionals to stay connected with
their office, friends and family.

With the XV6700, a Verizon Wireless customer will find the same Windows-
based PC experience they are accustomed to with their desktop PC or laptop.
The XV6700 includes updated versions of Microsoft Office programs for Windows
Mobile including Office Outlook(R) Mobile, Office Excel(R) Mobile, Office
PowerPoint(R) Mobile, and Office Word(R) Mobile, making it the perfect device
for business executives to manage emails, spreadsheets and presentations --
regardless of location.

The XV6700 also supports Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync(R) for over-the-air
synchronization of email and calendar information with Microsoft Exchange
Server 2003.
