UTStarcom Personal Communications Unveils New Handsets at CTIA Wireless

Wireless carriers and their subscribers are in sync when it comes to what they
want in a good, basic handset -- easy-to-use, reliable, affordable and with a
bit of style. UTStarcom Personal Communications, a division of UTStarcom,
Inc. (Nasdaq: UTSI), continues to deliver just that with the introduction of
its new clamshell CDM7026 wireless phone and CDM7076 camera phone. Sporting
internal antennas and larger main displays, these new compact, lightweight
handsets will be on display at UTStarcom Personal Communications' booth
(#3962) at CTIA Wireless March 27-29 in Orlando, FL.

CDM7026 Phone and CDM7076 Camera Phone Will Resonate With Carriers and Consumers Alike

and creating handsets that offer practical, reliable and affordable wireless

consumer-friendly functionality with attractive design in entry-level devices

The simple, yet functional dual mode CDM7026 and the CDM7076 handsets
weigh a mere 3.1 ounces, and measure 3.7' (h) x 1.9' (w) x 0.7' (d). Both
offer 32MB Flash and 8MB RAM memory. Equipped with the MSM6050 chipset, the
phones are GPSOne capable/e911 compliant.

Consumers can view vivid photo and text images on both handsets. Both
have a 1.8' 65K color main display screen with the CDM7026 equipped with a
CSTN screen while the CDM7076 utilizes a TFT screen. Both handsets support
BMP, GIF, JPEG and PNG image formats. The CDM7076 also features an
easy-to-use VGA CMOS camera and a 1.0' Black & White STN (96 x 64) exterior
sub-display. Both phones support multiple ringtone audio formats, including
QCELP, EVRC, MIDI and MP3.

The handsets offer bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) and come
equipped with other popular advanced features such as voice activated dialing,
built-in speakerphone, polyphonic ringtones, a 500-entry phone book, text
messaging capability with a T9 dictionary, and two pre-loaded games.
